Texas Tech news: Tom Brady throws shade during Danny Amendola story

[ad_1]

Tom Brady has not been afraid to throw shade at people since he retired from the NFL. During his roast, he made fun of Peyton Manning. At a recent appearance at the roast of Kevin Hart, Brady made fun of Cowboys fans. The latest target for Brady was Texas Tech.

Brady was giving the commencement address at Georgetown University, and in his speech, he spoke about Danny Amendola and also took a shot at Texas Tech.

“Danny went undrafted out of Texas Tech. He was cut by three NFL teams. He wasn’t the tallest, he wasn’t the fastest, but he had a huge heart and he played his ass off in the biggest moments,” Brady told the graduates. “And, I hope you guys find colleagues like Danny. Having business school friends is great, don’t get me wrong, but sometimes you need a kid from a glorified community college who can bail your ass out of any jam. If you want to achieve great things, surround yourself with people like him.”

Brady did not mention Texas Tech by name, but called them a glorified community college. There is no reason for Brady to have any animosity towards Texas Tech. Brady grew up in Southern California and went to Michigan. He never faced Texas Tech while at Michigan. So, the shot may just be to poke fun at his friend Amendola.

The other option is that it was a poke at Patrick Mahomes, one of the most successful players from Texas Tech. He already has three Super Bowl rings at age 30, which was the same amount Brady had at that age.

Regardless of why he said it, it was a funny quip that surely raised some eyebrows.
