HENDERSON, Nev. — Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Kirk Cousins and edge Maxx Crosby were held out of practice Saturday for disciplinary reasons, head coach Klint Kubiak said.
The two got in an altercation during Friday’s practice after Cousins confronted Crosby for physical play. Kubiak said their actions violated team rules and deserved punishment.
“We have very clear expectations on how we want to practice and how we want to go about our business, and we violated that yesterday, so (we) held those guys out,” Kubiak said. “That’s all I’m gonna say about it.”
Kubiak said that they addressed the team over the incident and are now “moving on.” Cousins and Crosby will practice during the Raiders’ next session Monday, Kubiak said.
With Cousins out, No. 1 pick Fernando Mendoza took first-team reps as a Raider for the first time. Mendoza had a slow start Saturday but bounced back, throwing multiple touchdown passes in red zone and goal line team periods.
