Fantasy Football Draft Assistant: Player rankings, recommendations and evaluations

Scout players, evaluate draft rankings and compare season point projections using our Fantasy Football Draft Assistant tool.

How the Draft Assistant works

The Fantasy Draft Assistant pulls in players draft evaluations, overall rankings and season-long scoring projections from Jake Ciely and The Athletic’s fantasy team so users can better decide who to take on draft day. Enter up to five players to compare them on your shortlist.

All player summaries, their rankings and projections are generated and curated by The Athletic’s staff. They will be updated over the course of the NFL preseason until the regular season begins Sept. 9.

Certain players may be ranked higher or lower than their projected point total would indicate. The rankings illustrate how Ciely would draft and account for playing situation, risk, scoring ceiling and other variables.

Notable injuries will be denoted for affected players but may not be updated immediately.

If you’re using it during a live draft, the Draft Assistant will not know which players are on your roster, so it may suggest taking a player at a position you’ve already filled.
