Tate Taylor announced himself on the world stage with a thrilling victory in his Prefontaine Classic debut, winning the men’s 200m in 19.75 despite a headwind. The 18-year-old lowered his own high school national record, earned his first Diamond League win, and defeated reigning Olympic champion Letsile Tebogo in one of the biggest upsets of the season.
Tebogo finished second in 19.93 and Jereem Richards placed third in 20.07 as Taylor became the third fastest U20 athlete in history.
