The New York Knicks are going to the NBA Finals with a chance to erase a long run of postseason futility.
This is their first appearance in the finals since 1999, and they haven’t won a championship since 1973. It’s been so long that even New York Gov. Kathy Hochul seems to be confused about the history of it — unless she was joking about the “1993 championship team.”
And before Knicks fans get too excited, they should remember that either the defending-champion Oklahoma City Thunder or the Victor Wembanyama-led San Antonio Spurs will be coming out of the West. Who should the Knicks rather play? Is “neither” an option?
One thing that’s hard to argue is that the NBA playoffs have been an exciting ride. So, of course, we had to touch on it with a couple of questions in this week’s quiz. There is a whole lot more in there, however, so we hope you’ve been paying attention. Good luck, and make sure you try out our daily Connections: Sports Edition while you’re at it.
